International Leadership Skills

Tri-National Project to increase Employability in the Caucasus Region

Students from Azerbaijan, Georgia and Germany

10-day working period in project groups in Georgia

Personal development and increased job market opportunities

The goal of the project is to provide students with incentives, know-how and ideas as a way of improving their chances on the job market. To do so, students from Azerbaijan, Germany and Georgia travel annually to a Summer School with their fellow students in Georgia or Azerbaijan.

First of all, they work together with their lecturers to discuss the conditions and challenges that local companies face. They then visit a number of practice partners where they work out solutions to current issues.

Positive Motives

Over 93% of participants claim to have learned a great deal and have noticed an improvement in their entrepreneurial knowledge. The recommendation rate is 100%. This is mainly due to improved job market opportunities, the internationalisation process and the programme that broadens horizons.

  • Broadening personal horizons
  • International networking
  • Better job opportunities

The project is a consequent further development of previous projects in Azerbaijan (2016, 2019) and Georgia (2017, 2018). All the feedback and reported experiences have been positive. The mixture of excursions, teaching units and independent project work knows how to please and invites to a continuous repetition. This takes place annually in September. We are already looking forward to the next project.

The implementation always takes place at one of our cooperation partners. Our Georgian partner is Tbilisi State University and our Azerbaijan Partner is Azerbaijan University (AU). The students of the AU and the TSU work together with students of the Koblenz University of Applied Sciences on individual topics of the practice partners of the current project.

The practical partners and their individual tasks are selected by the project team in the run-up to the project. For this purpose, lectures by Azerbaijan and Georgian experts as well as the German project team take place in order to thoroughly prepare the students. Excursions to the surrounding countryside also include fun and the culture of the Caucasus.

The DAAD Promos Programme, which is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Science (BMBF), also provides international mobility for our students.
The Leadership Culture Foundation promotes leadership culture in professional and social fields and supports us both during the project phase and afterwards.
